Scams on the internet are now
very numerous.Social networks such as facebook are often one of the best
targets for online scammers that take advantage of the ignorance of
users.Facebook has long time been subject to many scams ;the most recent
facebook scam or shall I say the recent
scam on facebook is a bulk scam that targets not just one facebook account, but
millions of them. The social network now counts almost a billion users on its network
and the bulk scam used by online scammers
to target their victims is as simple as stealing the victims facebook or
his personal e-mail account details
(account name and password). The password being stolen, the scammer can now do
whatever he wants with your account like
using it to deceive your contacts into giving him money or providing him with
some personal information which will allow him to go on to cheat them later…but
at first, how do scammers still your
facebook password?
1.Facebook scam 1
: Chat messages from unknown contacts.
Starting a chat with an unknown individual on facebook is a very unsafe and dangerous thing, allowing the hacker to get all the information he needs in order to steal your password. For example, while on facebook, you receive a sudden chat message from an unknown individual (Hackers can go through multiple ways to trick the system out, giving them the ability to send you a message through the chat box without your permission) saying:
Starting a chat with an unknown individual on facebook is a very unsafe and dangerous thing, allowing the hacker to get all the information he needs in order to steal your password. For example, while on facebook, you receive a sudden chat message from an unknown individual (Hackers can go through multiple ways to trick the system out, giving them the ability to send you a message through the chat box without your permission) saying:
- “Hey man!How are you doing?”
The best thing to do in such a situation would
be to just block him right away without responding with even a single word.A
user may think he has been clever enough to detect the hack but wishes to say
just a “get away mo**** fuc***” before blocking him but that is the very
mistake never to do.What happens when
you respond with even a single letter to an unknown facebook chat message is that by doing
so,you give the hacker the possibility to detect your IP address, which could be
used later to track you.
When your IP address is being tracked by a
hacker, that means your IP will be scanned to find any leaks or open ports in
your computer through the network;then, some techniques are used to inject
malicious codes in your computer system, which for xample could be used to record
your password when you type it.
Once a scammer steals your password,he goes on
to deceive your contacts into revealing
some confidential information which he will use to hack their accounts
too. Thus, from one facebook account hacked,a hacker could possibily hack a million
accounts logically, making it a real facebook bulk scam.
So never ever respond to facebook chat messages
from an unknown user.
You have certainly heard of a very dangerous internet attack which is
subject to warnings from many internet security experts:phishing.Phishing is
the deadliest scam on facebook ever and the most easy one.The process is as
simple as sending a victim a fake facebook link which usually will require him
to enter his account name and password.Once the password is entered,it is
automatically recorded by the fake site which sends the information to the
hacker. So the advice here is : Never enter your facebook password through a
link that you’ve clicked.Always enter it through the facebook real homepage.
